CRPA Windsor conference: 6 – 8 May 2011
The annual CRPA Windsor conference, organised by Lord Griffiths of Fforestfach, will take place over the weekend of 6 – 8 May 2011 at St George’s House, Windsor Castle.
This year the theme will be ‘Big Society/Good Society – A Christian Perspective’: in response to the debate created by the present UK Government’s concept of the Big Society, we will be looking at alternative approaches to society (Stake Holders, Third Way, and so on) as well as thinking through a distinctive Christian approach to the issue. As the weekend is an international event, we will also be interested in examining how other countries grapple with this issue. It is important that the weekend should not just be a ‘talking shop’ but a preparation for our involvement in serving and empowering those who are disadvantaged.
There will be a number of speakers who will contribute to the sessions and provoke thinking and debate. The number of participants is strictly limited to 40 which makes the weekend an excellent opportunity for some real discussion as well as for fellowship. On the Saturday evening we will have a special dinner with extra guests and a keynote address in the Vicar’s Hall where the first performance of Shakespeare’s The Merry Wives of Windsor was presented.
